The Lime & Violet Knit Along!

Fans of the Lime and Violet Podcast can show their colors with Lisa Souza Lime & Violet sock yarn. The projects are as varied as Lime & Violet's audience -- the common thread is the awesome yarn.

Semi-success

And I thought I was successful on my socks - I was plugging along, no second sock syndrome here....

I got through the second sock:

Only to find out that I don't know where I lost track of paying attention, because sock #2 is too short for my foot!! It's only good as a dachshund nose warmer. Groan. I don't want to undo it to try and fix it. I'm tossing my hands up on this one.

My Socks are Done!

I finished my socks with the Lime & Violet yarn from Lisa Souza.....so cute, too. These are knitted top-down, only pattern that I know so far. I don't know what to do with the rest of the yarn, yet, but I'm looking for something that I can wear with the socks. Maybe I'll just make a skinny scarf, you know for fashion, not warmth.

Oooh Jay Walkers

Ladies those socks are gorgeous. I am working on this shawl, but now I think I want socks instead. I bought two hanks of Lisa Souza. If I make this a scarf instead of a shawl I might get a pair of anklets out of my 2nd ball - plus what's left of this ball. Or geez, I might have to buy more yarn - it's good I have Lisa on speed e-mail :D

Finished my socks

Hey Everyone! I finished my socks today.

I used the Waffle Rib pattern from Sensational Knitted Socks for the leg and stockinette for the foot.

Jaywalkers done!

My modified Jaywalkers are complete!! I changed the needle size up to a 2 so I don't have to do the 20 minutes wrestling match like with my other Jaywalkers. I also lengthened the cuff to 9". Only had about a quarter-sized ball of yarn leftover.

yarn roll

I got my yarn a while ago, but I just got it wound for me by a shop with a ball winder. Thanks again Knitter's Palette. Anyway, doesn't it look fantastic this way?

Now I just need a project.

My yarn came!!

I just received my Lime & Violet yarn from Lisa Souza!!! I was so excited, and my kids thought I was nuts, till they saw it!! They both think they are getting new socks out of it!! I don't know, I think I'll have to make some socks for myself. I was also considering a scarf, but I just love showing people my funky socks, when I wear them. I use 4 dpn's to make my socks and work top-down for now. Those are the patterns I have, for now. Anyhow....I'm excited to get started.

HI! New KAL'er here :)

I'm AnneMarie aka roxy from the
knittyboards and I just joined - thank you for letting me be a part of this awesome group! Two things to celebrate here - my purchase of Lisa Souza L&V yarn from Stitches East and I turned my first sock heel ever over the weekend.

I am planning either a lace scarf or wrap with my yarn purchase, just need to finish my other WIP first.

Hope everyone is healthy & happy - will post back soon! :)

My Progress

I'm still working on my scarf but I thought I would post a picture so you guys could see my progress. It's in an ivy leaf pattern and I have probably 26 inches to go so it's a bit slow going. Sorry if the picture is a little fuzzy-it's my first time upload a pic to Blogger.

Hope everyone is having sucess with there LNV projects.

My First Socks!!!

YEAH! They are done, my first pair of socks. After much to do at the beginning and ripping out the heel three times before understanding the short rows. I think they are great and they fit! I added extra stitches to the pattern to make sure they would fit. They are comfortable I have worn them around the house but it is not cool enough here to wear them all day. This was my first knit along, I will definetly join another.

Getting Naked For Cancer

So, I usually post inspirational photos in our favorite Lime and Violet colorway. This is a little different.

Back in January, a friend of mine had an idea to help a friend of hers who had recently been diagnosed with Hodgkin's lymphoma. Sex sells, we all know this, so why not sell the idea of it to raise money for something important -- like helping to pay for cancer meds. And so she came up with Lime Suckers -- a group of volunteers some whom were getting naked and some of whom were wrangling photos and text and websites and all of whom were in it to help someone beat cancer.

I wrangled text and people who deal with text. I'm also an alternate model so you might wind up seeing me on a Lime Sucker product sometime.

This totally freaks me out. But it also speaks to the depth of dedication involved with this project. You don't know Heather. But chances are good you know someone whose life was affected by cancer. I didn't know Heather before this project. But I do know that helping, even in this small way, is a good thing. It's a tangible thing that donations to cancer research (while those are fantastic) can't accomplish.

You can pre-order a calendar here.

There's something for everyone in this calendar. All shapes, all sizes, all real bodies. It's tasteful and fun. And naked. And all proceeds go directly into Heather's account so that she can concentrate on beating this disease without being beaten by financial collapse.

And if you'd pimp this in your own blogs, that would be pretty awesome as well. Just please leave a comment so we can keep track of where we're showing up!

So, yeah. That's this week's lime-colored inspiration.
